Sequence 2020 is an annual Graduation Showcase of final year degree students of
Graphic Design, Interior & Architecture Design, and Furniture & Product Design programmes in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, and conducted at the Faculty of Design and Built Environment, First City University College.

The video game and neon themed design concept is used to express the meaning of “Unlocked”. The visual elements of video games help to communicate the different levels of learning difficulties; allowing the “player” to experience the challenges and failures at each stage before achieve success. Subsequently, the neon colour palettes in the video games, with their electrifying, intense and fluorescent lightings will give out a loud and vivid effect, to get attention from everyone. Besides, the neon colours also bring out the feeling of young vibes and spirit.

The design is inspired from the ‘Glitchy’ effect from the gaming concept while the colours strengthen our theme’s concept of a neon vibe. The tagline “Achievement Unlocked” reflects the current situation of the fresh graduates in First City University College to finally achieve one of the achievement (graduate) in our life and are ready to unlock new challenges and achievements in the future, with a new role as a designer.
